Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy outlines how Karim Family Foundation manages your personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) 2012.

1. Personal Data

“Personal data” refers to any information that can identify you, either on its own or when combined with other data we have or are likely to have access to.

We may collect personal data such as your name, contact details (address, phone number, email), academic qualifications (for job applications), employment history, and any other information you have provided to us through forms, communications, interactions or identification processes.

 

2. Purposes for the Collection, Use and Disclosure

Personal data may be collected, used or disclosed to third parties where necessary to provide, operate and administer Karim Family Foundation projects, jobs, products, or services, and to process job applications, recruitment, and selection. (Hereinafter collectively referred to as the “Purposes”).

Should there be any need to use your personal data for any other purposes, we will notify you and obtain your prior consent.

If you provide us with personal data relating to other individuals (e.g. spouses, children, parents, or referees), you are required to obtain their explicit consent for the collection, utilization, or distribution of their personal data.

We may collect, use and disclose your personal data pursuant to an exception under the Personal Data Protection Act or as required/authorised under any other written law.

By providing your personal data to us or by accessing and viewing our website, it is deemed that you have agreed to all the terms, conditions and notices stated in this policy.

 

3. Consequences of Not Consenting or Providing Personal Data Necessary for Our Services

Please note that should you not consent and provide us with the relevant personal data to fulfil the “Purposes” of collection, use and disclosure of your personal data by Karim Family Foundation, it may hinder our ability to continue to interact with you.

 

4. Withdrawal of Consent

The consent that you provide for the collection, use and disclosure of your personal data will remain valid until such time it is being withdrawn by you in writing.  If you wish to withdraw your consent to any use or disclosure of your Personal Data as set out in this Data Protection Policy, you may write to our Data Protection Officer at dpo@harrisonam.com

Please note that withdrawing consent for purposes necessary for us to fulfil our contractual obligations or providing our services to you may affect our ability to proceed with certain transactions or interactions. Upon receiving your withdrawal request, we will review and inform you of any potential consequences and provide you a Consent Withdrawal Form for your completion prior to processing your request.

Withdrawal of consent does not affect our right to continue to collect, use and disclose personal data pursuant to an exception under the PDPA or as required/authorised under any other written law.

 

5. How We Protect Your Information

We are committed to safeguarding your personal data in accordance with the PDPA and have implemented reasonable security measures to protect it from unauthorised access, modification, loss, destruction of your personal data, or other similar risks.

 

6. Transfer of Data

Where applicable, your personal data may be stored on external servers located overseas. In the course of our business operations, we may also transfer your personal data to and among our related corporations, organizations, their affiliates, and third-party service providers, some of which may be located outside of Singapore.

Any transfer of the personal data will be carried out in accordance with the requirements as prescribed under the PDPA or applicable data protection laws to ensure that the receiving organization provides a standard of protection for personal data.

 

7. Data Breach Notification

While there may be occurrences in the future where personal data could be compromised, we will do our utmost to assess the situation. If the data breach is deemed to be notifiable, the affected individuals and/or the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) shall be informed accordingly.

 

8. How We Retain Your Personal Data

We retain your personal data only for as long as it is necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, or as required for legal or business reasons.

When your personal data is no longer needed, we will securely dispose of or destroy it in accordance with our data retention and disposal policies.

 

9. Access and Correct Your Information

You may request access or make corrections to your personal data under our possession. A reasonable fee may be charged for processing your request. Such a fee depends on the nature and complexity of your access request.

We aim to ensure that your personal information is accurate and up to date. If there are changes to your personal data (e.g. name, contact details, or payment details), please inform us so we can update our records accordingly. We will make the necessary corrections as soon as reasonably practicable, or within thirty (30) business days from the date of receiving your request.

10. Non-Disclosure

We do not sell, trade or otherwise transfer to third parties your personally identifiable information. This does not include trusted third parties who are engaged to assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or providing services to you.

We may also disclose your information if required by law, or where it is necessary to protect our rights, property or the safety of others. However, non-personally identifiable visitor information may be shared to other parties for marketing, advertising or other uses.

 

11. Review and Changes to Privacy Policy

We review and update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal or regulatory requirements. Any updates to this policy will be posted on this page.
